Are you looking for a fun way to spend a day with your students
at the end of the year?
Maybe this will be an idea you can use!
Every year I have a
"Sand-sational Reading Celebration!"
The students come to
school dressed in shorts, tropical shirts, sandals, and beach hats. They can bring a beach towel to sit on
while they read and to use for a game of musical beach towels (just like musical chairs).
They each get a lei and we learn the Hukilau, do the limbo, drink Capri Suns,
and eat goldfish or Swedish Fish!
I also look up the Hawaiian name for each of my students, and they wear that on a nametag for the day.
They get so excited for this!
So...what fun things are you doing?
Wishing I was sitting in this chair,
Robyn
